Our Leadership Education 1:1 Program is exclusively for senior doctors in formal and informal leadership roles at consultant level and above. The program builds your leadership capability, helps you find an authentic voice and style and supports you to confidently lead multidisciplinary teams. Designed to equip you with practical, evidencebased leadership skills, cultivate psychological safety and drive positive change in complex healthcare settings, it is practical and immediately applicable, delivering tools you can use from day one. We also offer this education program in a group format.

Learning Outcomes

1. Understand effective leadership in complex collaborative team-based healthcare environments
2. Develop awareness of how you take up your leadership role and your personal strengths and challenges in this area
3. Develop awareness of how you take up your role authentically, and the role of values and purpose in your work
4. Develop awareness of others and how to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues in an inclusive and effective way
5. Understand and have skillset in fundamental communication skills including perspective-taking, active listening, managing assumptions and unconscious bias, practising empathy, and compassion
6. Understand psychological safety, how to observe this and to create  and enhance in your teams
7. Understand how to set up complex and diverse teams for success, including structures and processes for teamwork and communication
8. Understand learning and improvement culture, what it looks like and the fundamental role of open and honest professional conversations, include feedback, performance management, difficult conversations and dealing with conflict
9. Develop skills for leading in large teams and organisations – include agile and adaptive leadership practices, flexibility, and big picture thinking
10. Develop skills for leading in constantly changing environments and leading new change projects to innovate and adapt to new needs and challenges
11. Develop greater self-confidence for leadership work and a greater clarity in your leadership identity, understanding self-doubt, stress, and anxiety and how to use gratitude and self-compassion to sustain your leadership practice
12. Develop greater understanding and awareness of work-life balance, self-care and wellbeing, and practical skills and behaviours for guarding again exhaustion and burnout for yourself and others
13. Develop a strong understanding and skillset for developing strong professional relationships and networks in your current role and beyond to support professional wellbeing, growth, and career advancement
14. Develop a deep understanding of how to ensure sustainable behavioural change using personalised goal setting, SMART actions, and realistic timelines.

What to expect:

This personalised one-to-one program comprises six tailored, one-on-one modules, scheduled at your convenience and delivered online, and a one-hour coaching session.

Totals nine and a half hours of contact time, and approximately 17.5 hours of self-directed study.
