Managing Chronic Kidney Disease in Primary Care

Health Professionals, join Kidney Health Australia with Prof Shilp Jesudason (Director of Dialysis) and Dr Caitlin Sum (General Practitioner) as they deep dive into chapter 2 Managing CKD of the 5th edition Chronic Kidney Disease Management in Primary Care handbook. Together, they will navigate key management strategies utilising a case study that will illustrate best practice pharmacological management and AKI prevention for when an individual with CKD is sick or dehydrated, avoiding further damage to the kidneys.

  1. Outline the key management strategies for all people with CKD
  2. Identify best practice pharmacological therapies for an individual with CKD in the primary care setting
  3. Describe a plan to prevent acute kidney injury in individuals with CKD who are sick or dehydrated.
