This course is divided into five detailed units:

Unit 1: Overview of Arthritis
This unit introduces the various types of arthritis, focusing on osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other forms like gout and ankylosing spondylitis. Participants will explore the differences between inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases, understanding their clinical presentations, common symptoms, and impacts on quality of life and the healthcare system.

Unit 2: Epidemiology and Pathogenesis of Osteoarthritis
In this unit, participants will learn about the epidemiology of osteoarthritis, including its prevalence, risk factors, and comorbidities. The pathogenesis of OA is discussed, explaining how factors like aging, obesity, injury, and genetics contribute to the development and progression of the disease.

Unit 3: Clinical Features and Diagnosis
This unit focuses on the clinical presentation of osteoarthritis, covering the key symptoms, stages, and joint distributions commonly affected by OA. Participants will learn how to diagnose OA based on clinical history, physical examination, and when necessary, imaging. The unit also discusses spondylosis, its clinical features, and diagnostic considerations​.

Unit 4: Management of Osteoarthritis
Participants will explore the overarching principles of OA management, including both non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions. This unit covers the management of hip, knee, and hand OA, offering practical guidelines for weight management, exercise, pain relief, and when to consider surgical options​.

Unit 5: Management of Spondylosis
This final unit covers the management of cervical and lumbar spondylosis, focusing on conservative treatment strategies, including exercise, pharmacotherapy, and referral to specialists when necessary. The unit also discusses interventions for more severe cases involving neurological symptoms or significant pain​.

This course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge to effectively manage degenerative joint diseases, improving patient care and outcomes in musculoskeletal health.
