Disorders of pigmentation, infiltrative dermatoses and uncommon skin diseases

Description

The Disorders of Pigmentation, Infiltrative Dermatoses, and Uncommon Skin Diseases course offers a comprehensive exploration of complex dermatological conditions. This single-unit program provides in-depth insights into pigmentation disorders, granulomatous diseases, and rare skin conditions, emphasising the diagnostic power of dermoscopy.

The course is structured into three core sections, each addressing distinct dermatological challenges:

  • Disorders of Pigmentation
  • Hyperpigmented Disorders: Differentiating conditions such as lichen pigmentosus, ashy dermatosis, and frictional melanosis using dermoscopic patterns, including dots, networks, and reticular structures
  • Hypopigmented Disorders: Identifying hypopigmented conditions such as vitiligo, pityriasis alba, and idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis through features like perifollicular pigmentation and white hairs
  • Case studies illustrating dermoscopic clues for differentiating similar clinical presentations
  • Infiltrative Dermatoses
  • Overview of granulomatous diseases, including sarcoidosis, lupus vulgaris, and necrobiosis lipoidica, highlighting orange structureless areas and specific vascular patterns
  • Advanced insights into rare conditions like leishmaniasis and granuloma annulare, emphasising histological and dermoscopic correlations
  • Practical flowcharts and clinical examples to streamline diagnosis and management
  • Uncommon Skin Diseases
  • Papulokeratotic Dermatoses: Exploring conditions like Darier disease and Grover disease, with dermoscopic features such as polygonal brown areas and peripheral white halos
  • Papulosquamous Dermatoses: Differentiating between conditions like pityriasis lichenoides chronica, secondary syphilis, and pityriasis rubra pilaris through dermoscopic and clinical features
  • Case studies of rare conditions, including porokeratosis and Flegel disease, with diagnostic and management strategies.

This course equips participants with the tools to navigate complex dermatological challenges effectively. By mastering dermoscopic patterns and understanding histopathological correlations, healthcare professionals will be better prepared to diagnose and manage disorders of pigmentation, infiltrative dermatoses, and uncommon skin diseases confidently.
