This course is divided into three detailed units:
Unit 1: Sexual Function and Dysfunction
This unit introduces the physiology of male sexual function and explores common sexual dysfunctions such as erectile dysfunction (ED) and performance anxiety. Participants will learn how to assess and diagnose these issues, focusing on the multifactorial causes of ED, including psychological, biological, and lifestyle factors. The connection between ED and underlying health conditions like cardiovascular disease and diabetes is also discussed.
Unit 2: Penile Erection Aids
In this unit, various treatments for erectile dysfunction are presented, including oral medications like PDE5 inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis), penile injections, vacuum devices, and penile implants. The course also discusses the role of shockwave therapy in ED treatment, including its efficacy and ideal patient profiles.
Unit 3: Ejaculation Physiology and Disorders
The final unit focuses on ejaculation disorders, with an emphasis on premature ejaculation (PE) and its treatment options. Participants will explore both psychological and pharmacological therapies, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and topical aesthetics. Techniques such as the stop-start method and the squeeze technique for managing PE are also discussed.
This course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to address male sexual dysfunctions, providing effective treatment options for improved patient outcomes.
