Emerging role of Pharmacogenomics in Clinical Practice

Description

This webinar will provide General Practitioners with a practical understanding of the emerging role of pharmacogenomics (PGx) in clinical practice.

Associate Professor Kym Mina, a Genetic Pathologist, will introduce the fundamentals of PGx—what it is, how it works, the supporting science, and an overview of current Australian and international clinical guidelines.

GP Dr Stuart Arbuckle will then present two clinical case studies demonstrating the practical application of PGx in mental health. The goal is to improve patient outcomes, enhance compliance, and reduce adverse effects.

The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A panel session, offering attendees a chance to engage in a clinical discussion and have their specific questions answered. The session will equip attendees with the knowledge to begin incorporating PGx testing into their everyday practice to offer a more personalised approach to medicine.
