Women's Health Seminar - NSW

Description

Women are a large section of society with life-long medical needs that GPs can meet in primary care. Eight eight percent of Australian females visited a doctor in the year 2021 to 2022. Prevention as well as diagnosis and management are features of women's health including regular checks and tests for cervical cancer and others depending on presenting symptoms. General practitioners need to learn about women's health in order to effectively provide medical services to this large patient population.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Assess familial hypercholesterolaemia genetic testing and its cascading testing options in primary care
  2. Apply current screening guidelines, diagnose and manage sexually transmitted infections, cervical disorders and anal cancer
  3. Apply current best practice guidelines to optimise maternal and foetal health throughout pregnancy, including routine chemistry and genetic tests
  4. Determine best practice management options when diagnosing perimenopause and menopause
  5. Identify the risk of cardiovascular in women, low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) guidelines and new treatments available.
