2026 Anatomy For Injectors (AFI)

Description

The AFI has to come to represent Australia’s premier anatomical dissection course for cosmetic injectors.  Our core faculty of specialist plastic surgeons, teamed with injecting experts from all across the industry, will cover both basic and advanced techniques through a combination of fresh cadaver dissections as well as live, hands-on demonstrations.  This allows for the in-depth, three-dimensional visualization and learning of facial anatomy that is only possible in a cadaver dissection lab.  Our goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to maximize patient safety, and achieve consistent individual patient results.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe and interpret key facial anatomical structures relevant to injectable aesthetic procedures, including vascular pathways, nerves, fat compartments, and high-risk zones
  2. Apply anatomical knowledge to inform safe injection planning and technique selection in clinical practice
  3. Identify anatomical risk areas and implement strategies to reduce the likelihood of procedural complications
  4. Recognise and manage complications associated with injectable treatments, including vascular compromise and tissue injury
  5. Demonstrate improved clinical reasoning when selecting injection planes and treatment approaches based on individual patient anatomy
  6. Evaluate and adjust treatment plans to enhance safety, efficacy, and aesthetic outcomes
  7. Apply principles of informed consent, ethical decision-making, and effective patient communication in aesthetic procedures
  8. Integrate anatomical knowledge into real-world clinical scenarios to improve procedural safety and patient outcomes.
