Dementia Part 1: D is for Detection, Diagnosis and multi-Disciplinary management: An update on Dementia

Description

This educational video provides specialists with an update in dementia detection, diagnosis and multi-disciplinary management. With an ageing population and increasing prevalence of dementia in Australia, it is becoming more urgent that dementia is detected early and that the responsibility for caring for these patients is shared as rationally as possible amongst clinical subgroups, including GPs and allied health practitioners who can collaborate with specialist colleagues. Advances in diagnostic pathways make earlier detection and intervention feasible. Empowering GPs to become more active in an area of aged care previously seen as specialist-only will form a part of future approaches to the disease.
