The ACAM Aesthetic Medicine Workshop September 2026 has been developed to address the growing educational needs of Australian general practitioners who assess, counsel, treat and refer patients seeking advice on dermatological conditions and aesthetic medical procedures.
Skin disease remains one of the most common reasons for presentation in Australian primary care. Patients increasingly seek advice regarding minimally invasive procedures including chemical peels, injectable treatments, laser therapies and energy-based devices.
The Medical Board of Australia emphasises practitioner competence, informed consent, patient assessment, recognition of complications and ongoing professional development. Many GPs receive little formal education in aesthetic medicine during vocational training, creating an identified educational gap.
This workshop addresses these needs through evidence-based presentations, expert faculty lectures, peer discussion, clinical demonstrations and interactive learning.
