Finding accredited CPD
This webinar is a presentation on everything there is to know about breast implants, from the implant surgeries, the types of implants, the complications that can occur, to the possible long term outcomes. The webinar will cover surveillance required for patients with breast implants, possible presentations of implant issues and how they can be investigated. The management of implant complications by specialist surgeons will also be presented to facilitate better understanding of the consequences of implant surgery.
This is an informative webinar for all healthcare practitioners who are involved in the care of patients with breast implants. It is important to recognise that once a patient has breast implants in situ, it should become part of their ongoing preventative and surveillance health care. Like any implantable prosthesis, breast implants can have delayed problems that cause health or functional issues, which may necessitate revisional surgery.
This webinar will be presented by Dr Lily Vrtik, a Brisbane-based plastic surgeon who has been performing breast implant surgery for over 15 years. She has interest in both cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including breast implant revisions. She works in both the public and private sector in Brisbane and has been heavily involved in the cosmetic regulation reforms, as well as advocacy for public safety in cosmetic surgery.
