Case Management: FemTech Consultations

Description

FemTech (female technology) is rapidly transforming how women monitor symptoms, track cycles, manage pregnancy, and record wellbeing data. Increasingly, patients bring app summaries, symptom charts, wearable data and health reports into primary care consultations. This course provides General Practitioners with an evidence-based framework for responding to FemTech data confidently, while recognising the benefits, limitations, and risks of digital health information.

Through eight interactive case studies, participants explore the use of FemTech in consultations across women’s health and wellbeing, including:
1. Mental Health Monitoring in Female Patients Using FemTech
2. Digital Pregnancy Monitoring and Symptom Correlation Using FemTech
3. Digital Health in Menopause Symptom Monitoring and Sleep Disturbance
4. FemTech App Use and Hypertension Symptom Management
5. Digital Health in Female Wellness Monitoring
6. Digital Health in Menopause Symptom Management
7. Nutrition, Weight, and Metabolic Health Monitoring Using FemTech
8. Cycle Disruption and Symptom Monitoring in Perimenopause Using FemTech

Learners will develop practical skills to critically appraise FemTech information, integrate relevant data into clinical reasoning, and guide patients toward responsible and secure use of digital health tools in primary care.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Distinguish common data that is monitored and provided by FEMTECH applications.
  2. Determine how to respond to patients presenting data from their FEMTECH applications in primary care.
