How many people have you diagnosed with chronic kidney disease this week? General practitioners play a pivotal role in the early detection and care of people with CKD. This role has become even more critical as more than 6M Australian adults are at risk of CKD and more than 2M live with CKD. A staggering 90% of kidney function can be lost before people experience symptoms! This webinar will explore how to identify, detect, and diagnose chronic kidney disease in at risk populations. The three elements of the Kidney Health Check are effective in detecting CKD however it is the uACR test that predicts heightened kidney and cardiovascular risk. We will also share tips for creating a simple plan to detect and diagnose chronic kidney disease in individuals without a coded diagnosis in practice software.

Learning Outcomes

1. Identify which individuals in the population are at increased risk of chronic kidney disease
2. Describe the importance of each of the albuminuria test in the Kidney Health Check in detecting chronic kidney disease
3. Outline a simple plan to detect and diagnose CKD in individuals without a coded diagnosis.
