Learning Objectives:

1. Review causes of myocardial ischaemia that can occur in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease.
2. Discuss limitations of only assessing epicardial coronary arteries in the assessment of chest pain syndromes / ischaemic heart disease
3. Review current guideline recommendations for the evaluation of chest pain syndromes, including the role of invasive assessment of coronary vasomotor disorders and coronary microvascular dysfunction.
