Acne is a common reason for presentation in general practice. Yet recognising when hormonal factors are driving the condition, or when hormonal therapy should be considered, is challenging. As evidence supporting hormonal treatments for acne accumulates, GPs need a practical, evidence-based approach for managing acne.
In this webinar, dermatologist Dr Alex Coe, gynaecologist Dr Nasreen Shamas, and GP Dr Anita Munoz integrate current evidence into a practical framework for managing hormonal acne in women. Through a longitudinal patient case, the panel discusses acne pathophysiology, first-line management, indications for combined oral contraceptives and spironolactone, counselling strategies, practical prescribing considerations, and when to investigate for underlying disorders or refer for specialist care.
The webinar features an extensive live Q&A. Guided by a multidisciplinary panel, GPs are exposed to challenging clinical scenarios and receive practical insights they can apply in their own practice.
