Finding accredited CPD
This course is structured into three key units:
Unit 1: Types of Fillers
Participants are introduced to the different types of dermal fillers, including temporary, permanent, and biostimulators. The focus is on hyaluronic acid-based fillers, their properties, and their application for treating fine lines, volume loss, and skin texture. The unit also covers more advanced fillers such as calcium hydroxylapatite and poly-L-lactic acid, detailing their mechanisms and expected outcomes.
Unit 2: Patient Assessment
This unit emphasises the importance of a comprehensive patient assessment before any filler treatment. It covers taking medical history, assessing facial aging, and evaluating facial proportions and volume loss. Participants learn to develop a treatment plan tailored to individual needs, ensuring realistic and achievable results while minimising risks. The unit also discusses contraindications and pre-procedure considerations.
Unit 3: Application of Fillers
The final unit focuses on the practical application of dermal fillers, including product selection based on filler rheology and the properties of different gels. Participants will learn how to apply fillers for different areas of the face, understanding concepts such as gel hardness (G prime), cohesivity, and lifting capacity. The unit also covers managing side effects and complications, including bruising, swelling, and rare but serious issues such as vascular compromise.
This course provides the foundational knowledge necessary to confidently and safely incorporate dermal fillers into clinical practice.
