Description

High blood pressure is a leading cause of death and disability in Australia, and its economic impact is considerable. Hypertension awareness, treatment, and control have stagnated in Australia since 1990; the rate of controlled hypertension in 2019 (32%) is poor compared with rates for comparable countries, such as 51% in the United States and 59% in Canada.
