Dementia Part 2: D is for Detection, Diagnosis and multi-Disciplinary management: An update on Dementia

Description

This educational video compliments and continues the discussion from the Dementia Update for Specialists: Part 1 - D is for Detection, Diagnosis and multi-Disciplinary management: An update on Dementia. Part two takes that theory and applies it via two cases: focussing on the similarities, differences, nuances, and diagnoses of dementia presentations in patients of distinct age groups.

With the rising prevalence of dementia, these cases will examine the relative opportunities and challenges for early detection, including the call for greater recognition and action in Minor Neurocognitive Disorder, and the importance of rapid action for early-onset dementia within a health system strained of resources.

Given the limited access GPs and their patients have to definitive testing including subsidised MRIs, neuropsychology assessments, PET scans and highly performing office-based screening tests, this webinar also offers an opportunity to discuss ways in which collaborations between GPs and specialists can accelerate detection and management of dementia in Australia.
