The program will strengthen GPs’ ability to recognise concerning clinical and dermatoscopic features, understand appropriate referral and management pathways, and interpret the role of histopathology, tumour genetics, Mohs surgery and TNM staging in patient care. The inclusion of practical microscopy sessions supports clinicopathological correlation and enhances participants’ confidence in making timely, informed decisions that improve early detection, diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of dermatological conditions.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify the clinical and dermatoscopic features of common benign and malignant melanocytic lesions
- Differentiate between common benign and malignant lesions affecting the periocular region and ocular surface and determine appropriate investigation, management and referral pathways
- Describe the role of confocal microscopy in the assessment of equivocal skin lesions
- Describe the clinical features and diagnostic criteria of neurofibromatosis and identify appropriate surveillance and referral strategies for affected patients and families
- Identify common inflammatory skin conditions encountered in general practice.
