Description

To provide GPs with up-to-date trends in clinical features, investigations and treatment in cutaneous diseases including tumours and inflammatory conditions.


Learning Outcomes

  1. Differentiate between benign and malignant melanocytic lesions and use current knowledge and guidelines to manage them
  2. Identify skin signs linked to internal cancers and use the right tests and follow-up plans, including genetic counselling
  3. Classify different skin tumours, follow RCPA reporting, and explain treatment options using a team approach
  4. Interpret findings from dermatoscopy and confocal imaging with pathology to improve diagnosis of pigmented lesions
  5. Describe how plastic surgery is used to treat and reconstruct skin affected by tumours, especially in delicate areas
  6. Assess skin reactions to new drugs or vaccines and choose suitable treatments like lasers, UV therapy, or topical medicines.
