Structural heart disease

Description

Heart valve disease is a common presentation in the GP community. Early detection of heart murmurs plays an important role in identifying those at risk of heart valve disease. Heart auscultation plays a vital role in detecting these patients in general practice, yet can be a challenging skill to maintain.

Join Dr Liz Shaw (Interventional Cardiologist) as she discusses the prevalence and incidence of the different types of heart valve disease, its clinical impact, signs and symptoms, and how to assess the severity of the disease before referral for interventional treatment of this life-limiting condition.
